This is my first picture of the oystercatcher. A sunday afternoon at Brooklyn Marine park. I was hide myself in the high grass and wating for buffleheads, and I saw these guys (it was two of them) landed on somewhere near by, then I carefuly approach them, and in a not too close distance, I have a feeling that I should take a few shots first, then I continue to try to get closer; well, they just take off. I stay at the same spot to see if they will be back, but half hours later, I saw water is rasing, foced me to leave, but after I just leave the area, the two birs back but in this time, they saw me..............so.........they truned around and show their axx to me...

A saw a lot of them in New Zealand.  Besides the Pied Oystercatcher I also saw the all black one.
